Wildlife on a Day Off

On Monday I had a drive to the southern wolds to look at a butterfly site.  I'd never seen so many Ringlets in such a small place, plus several Marbled White.  The best birds on the nature reserve were a pair of Marsh Tits among a flock of Long-tailed Tits.  A short drive away just past an over-bedecked natural spring I spotted a Little Owl partially concealed in an Ash Tree.

For the past 8 weeks or so we've had at least 2 pairs of Bullfinches visiting the garden.  In pouring rain the other week they even found the feeding station, and have since become regular visitors.  They have also begun to bring one youngster at a tome.  these are slightly differently coloured, so we thank there have been 3 of these.  However, these photos are all of the same youngster.
